The film is set in a future where a multinational corporation, Mirando, has created genetically modified superpigs to be raised for food. Mija, a young girl from a rural village in South Korea, forms a strong bond with a superpig named Okja, who is destined for the slaughterhouse. When Okja is taken away from Mija, she embarks on a thrilling adventure to rescue her beloved friend. Along the way, she teams up with a group of animal rights activists, led by the charismatic and determined Dr. Jane Goodall.
