Lena tried to close the tab. The X in the corner glowed red but didn’t respond. Ctrl+Alt+Delete. Nothing. The laptop’s fan roared, then went silent. The battery icon showed 100%, then 0%, then 100% again. And on screen, the man had turned fully toward the camera. His eyes were no longer hopeless. They were curious. Hungry.
